History
In 1960, Edna and Arthur Carlile along with their daughter Wanda moved to a little picturesque farm in Shelby County Kentucky. They had big dreams of using this little 80 acre farm to support their family and highlight their long rich history of agriculture. Edna and Arthur were not shy of hard work and quickly started working the diversified farm growing tobacco/hay/grains, milking cows and establishing a hearty family garden. Along with growing the farm, they also grew their family and welcomed another daughter Kathy to the family.
A few years later tragedy struck the family with sudden death of Arthur. In the face of adversity, Edna along with her daughters kept the dairy farm moving forward in a time when others doubted they would survive on their own. During this time the daughters learned to cook, clean, sew and care for the legacy of this little family farm, and once again have diversified to keep the farm moving into the future.

Carlile Acres Farm is a multi-generational farm that boasts multiple event venues perfect for social events, like weddings, class reunions, corporate picnics, and outings. Our barn can host up to 175+ guests for a seated dinner and dancing event. Our farm has the perfect outdoor area for a ceremony and cocktail hour.
